“I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it.”
-         Dr. Ben Carson

I think that this statement means that, you aren't destined to live in poverty for the rest of your life just because you grew up in it. You can decide to work hard in school and in anything you do and you can change it. On the other hand of you don’t work hard and don’t show that you are determined to do something, you will eventually end up the same way grew up.

“You can’t be right by doing wrong; you can’t be wrong by doing right.”- Thomas S. Monson

I think that this quote means that, regardless of what happens, doing the wrong thing will NEVER become right and vice versa. It will always stay this way no matter what happens and even though the wrong thing might seem right and the right thing might seem wrong, it will never change no matter what you do or say.

“I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right.”
                                                                      -        Dean Smith

I think this quote means that, even when you are not looking for success, if you are doing the right thing all the time, you will eventually get rewarded because of your good deeds. Just like Dean Smith says, he wasn't trying to leave a legacy, but he did the right thing and that led him to a path full of success and achievements.

“It’s not about how to achieve your dreams. It’s about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.”- Dr. Randy Pausch

I think that this statements talk about, how you will be able to achieve your goals. You have to always do the right things and that will eventually lead you the right way and get opportunities for you to accomplish your dreams. This statement to me means that, if you want to do something that doesn't feel right, don’t do it. We have to think and be able to determine that if something feels wrong, you should think twice before doing it.

  Winter Break

I didn’t do much this winter break. I mostly stayed home and used my phone the whole day and watch some t.v. I stayed home and Amayrani went to my house to hang out. We had a lot of fun and after a while we decided to go out to eat. We went to In-N-out. We also had a movie night and watched the entire seasons of shows while snacking on some chips and soda. I also went to Big Bear and enjoyed some family time alongside my aunts and uncles. It was a great evening. Overall I had a lot of fun on my winter break.
“Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.”
