Final Part 1

1)      What I liked about this class is that the work was pretty easy and that the teacher and teacher assistants were nice.
2)      I didn’t like that we couldn’t switch seats and that sometimes the class was too quite.
3)      I recommend Mr. Haymore to let us change our seats sometimes so that we could have a chance to sit next to our friends.
4)      I really did try my best in class and I tried to complete all my work.
5)      I am reading my Life Planning 100+ goals every day for two minutes and I will continue to do so everyday even after we leave this classroom.
6)      I am committed to being a CTR person because I know that it will bring me positive consequences and I will always feel happy when I choose the right.
7)      I will always remember Mr. Haymore and our CTR cards and student success statements.

“Of all the choices you will ever make, one choice supersedes all the others- the ultimate choice. This one choice will help you to always make correct decisions. This one choice, the ultimate choice, is your keystone to being the best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever affect you for good more than any other choice. The Ultimate Choice is:
To be a CTR Person- to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!!”

This quote means that the best choice that you can ever make is to always choose the right. It will help you lead a better life and it will help you become a better student and person overall. This is the only choice that will forever affect you in a positive way rather than a negative way.

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”- Thomas Carlyle

This statement is true because like a boat without a rudder, a man will go nowhere without having goals. If you have goals, you will know what you want to do with your life and you will steer your path towards that goal that you want to achieve. Without your goals you will just stay isolated and not get anywhere in life.

If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.
Conclusion:
If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world.
-         Chinese Proverb

This proverb is correct because if there is no beauty in your character, then there will be no peace in the world. Your character is what influences if there will be peace in the world or not.

The Six Pillars of Character

The six pillars of character are:
·        Trustworthiness
·        Respect
·        Responsibility
·        Fairness
·        Caring
·        Citizenship

·        Trustworthiness: To be trustworthy, you must always be honest and never lie to anyone. For example, if a friend tells you one of their secrets and tells you not to tell anyone, you must always keep your promise of not telling anyone.

·        Respect: You also have to be respectful to others and always respect their decisions and what they want to do. For example, if your teacher tells you to do something then you must do it without talking back to them to show that you respect them.

·        Responsibility: You must also take responsibility for your actions. For example, if you broke something at you house, you must take responsibility and admit to what you did and not blame it on somebody else.

·        Fairness: To be fair you must always be honest in what you do. For example, if you are playing a game you must always be fair and never cheat.

·        Caring: You must always care for yourself and others around you. For example, you can always help other.

·        Citizenship: To become a good citizen, you can help your community.

Reflection: These six pillars of character can really help us be a better person and help us lead a successful life.

“I would prefer even to fail with honor that win by cheating.”
-Sophocles

What Sophocles is trying to say is that, he would prefer to fail something but still have his honor that to win something by cheating. For example, if you are taking a test and you cheat, you will win something by cheating and that is something that you would not like following you for the rest of your life. On the other hand, if you are taking the test and you don’t cheat then, you will fail but at least you will still have your honor.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day which was originally called Decoration Day, is a day that is used for remembrance for those soldiers who have fought for our country. Some people claim that Memorial Day was originated in Waterloo New York, but it has never been confirmed. It is always celebrated on the last Monday of May and in observance of the holiday, people attend memorials for their loved ones. For Memorial Day I will make sure to give thanks to all the people who I know have lost loved ones while fighting for our country.

“If I've got correct goals and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I’m going to succeed.”- Dan Dierdorf

What Mr. Dierdorf is trying to say is that if you have goals you must try to make them come true the best way you know how. After that, all of the other things that you would like to do will happen and you will achieve more of your goals. You just have to do the right thing all the time.

This statement means that you will never gain anything new if you do what is wrong. For example, you might have cheated on a test and you may think that you have gained something but you really didn't.
