Final Part 2

A) What I liked about this class is that it teaches us to do the right things and it gives us inspiration to become what we want to be in life. What I don't like about this class is that we sometimes have to extend our typing tutor.

B) I think we should get more free time. I also think that we should have more time on doing our work.

C) I did try my best because I enjoy learning new quotes to motivate me.

D) Yes I am every day after school I read them and write some more when I think about new ones.

E) I am committed because I want to be a better person and I want to get other people to choose the right as well.

F) I promise to choose the right in everything I do and to get other people to become a ctr person.

Final Part 1

      Interdisciplinary Project

The Interdisciplinary project has taught me a lot. It has shown me how to make an argument and ho to back it up with some evidence from a trustworthy source. My teammates did a pretty good job and I think that we all tried our hardest and achieved what we wanted which was to get a good grade on this project. My teammates names were; Samantha Ruiz, Rocio Shinaia, Ana Reyna, David Romero, Josue Hernandez, Angel Morales and last but not least me. My teachers decided to pick our groups and we ended up all together. Everything went well in the three weeks that we had to work on our presentation. When the presentation day actually came it was completely nerve-wrecking. I was one of the first people there and I was waiting for everyone to come. As everyone started arriving, all my teammates were there except for Samantha. The time was passing by really fast and she ended up getting there late and not presenting at all. This whole experience has taught me how to work better in a group and how to improvise when something goes wrong.  This has also improved my reading and writing skills and it has taught all of my team members and I how it is in the real world when you have to settle arguments. I am thankful for how much this experience has taught me.

“When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad.”

- Abraham Lincoln

I think that this statement means that, when you do something good and honestly, you will have a good feeling within your heart. On the other hand if you do bad, you won’t feel so good because you know that you did something wrong or you did something dishonestly. You should always do the right thing because it will help you have a kinder heart and it won’t make you feel bad.

“Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.”

                                                                             - Mr. Haymore

I think that this statement means that, you should take responsibility of your body, spirit, and mind for your well-being. This means that you should always choose to do the right thing and you should always be able to control your feelings and how avoid hurting other people because this will also hurt your well-being.

The Scorpion

Patrick was stung by a scorpion while he had gone camping with his parents. He wanted to go for a walk and instead of putting his shoes on; he put on some flip flops. He started walking, and not too far away from the site where his parents were, he felt a sharp pain in his leg. He thought that it was a thorn but as he looked down, he realized that it was a scorpion. They took him to the hospital and they told him that everything would be alright. I believe that Patrick should really learn from what happened and start doping what is right all the time. He got punished for choosing the wrong and if you do the wrong too, you will get punished as well.

“Always do Right.”
-Mark Twain

I think that this statement means that you should always do the right things no matter where you are. You must always decide to do the right thing not just once a week or once a day, but ALL the time. For example, you can try to do nice things for others. Even though you’re not very fond of them, you must always decide to do the right thing and be the more mature person. That is the key to having a successful life and to being a CTR person.

When you tell one lie it leads to another
                                               Paul Hatch

When you tell one lie it leads to another So you lie without even trying
So you tell two lies to cover each other And each lie you tell will keep
Then you tell three lies and, Oh Brother, multiplying
You’re in trouble up to your ears! ‘Till the whole world will know
So you tell four lies to try to protect you                                      you’re lying
Then you tell five lies so folks won’t suspect                               Then you’ll be
                            you                                                                    Suspected
Then you tell six lies and you’ll collect                                          Detected
A life filled with worries and fears                                                  Rejected
‘Cause you can’t remember how many lies                                    Neglected
       you've told                                                                            Disliked
And half the things you say aren't true And you should!
And sometimes you’ll slip up , you’ll trip up When you lie, you’re closing the door
                        and then                                                        On everything good
Whatever will become of you ?

“When you tell one lie, it leads to another.”

I think that this means that, if you tell one lie, no matter how big or small it is, it will lead to many other lies. This will keep on happening until you are eventually caught up in a web of lies and will have no way out. You have to be honest so that you won’t have to hurt others around you by lying to them.

Thursday, December 4, 2014

  1.    1.  Can people trust me to do what’s right? Yes they can because I don’t want to hurt other people by choosing to do what is wrong.

2.   Am I committed to do my very best? Yes I am because I always try hard in whatever I do and I always commit myself to complete all of my goals.

3.    Do I treat people the way I want to be treated? Yes I do because I am very nice to people and even though they aren't nice to me, I still show them respect.

“If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail.”
-          Lou Holtz

Reflection: I believe that these questions will make you successful because you are choosing to do right things instead of bad and this will lead you to a life of success. This will help other people believe that you are a trustworthy and responsible person and it will influence them to help you succeed.

Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body; it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”- President John F. Kennedy

I think that this quote means that, having a healthy body results in having a healthier brain which then leads to higher intellectual capability. This results in overall health.

        Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving all started by a small ship called the Mayflower. The Mayflower was coming all the way from Plymouth, England carrying 102 passengers. They all seeked a new start and they were lured onto the shores of The New World. Once in America, they face brutal winters and they were weakened by malnutrition and illness. They faced many hardships, however they managed to survive. On November 1621, they had their first corn harvest and it was very successful. This was the start of Thanksgiving. I believe that thanksgiving is very important and we should all cherish the good things on life no matter how small or unimportant you think they are.

Reflection: 12 Things I am Thankful for are…
  •            My Family
  •          My Friends
  •       The food we eat
  •        My Education
  •        My House
  •       The love of my parents
  •       5 Seconds of Summer

   Kindness

Ian McMillan is a great and kind young boy. Ian and another young boy were trying to catch a ball that one of the players from his favorite baseball team had thrown. Fortunately, Ian had caught it but, he didn't seem happy. He saw the look on the other boys face and he felt bad because he knew that he wanted the ball too. So he stood up and gave the young boy the ball that he had caught. Everyone realized what he had done and they decided to reward him. They called him over and gave him a baseball bat signed by his favorite player and they also gave him a contract sop that he could go to all of the games from his team for free. That was a great act of kindness that little Ian showed and he got rewarded for it. I believe that all people should be kind like that and if they do act kind towards others, they will get rewarded.
“Kindness is the essence of greatness.”
                                 - Joseph B. Wirthlin

I think that quote means that, if you are kind you will be great. For example, people that are not nice are the type of person that other people don’t consider great. If you are mean and you are rude and not ctr person, you will not be considered great by the others around you.

“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say.”

                                                       Marcus  Aurelius

I think that this quote means that, if there is something that is not true or that is not right, don’t do it or say it because it is not right. You are choosing the wrong and you are not being a ctr person. For example if there is a rumor going around, if you know that it’s not true, you should go spread the rumor even more.

“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today.”

 James Freeman Clarke

I think that this quote means that, even if you think that doing the right thing today will not have any effect in the future. You must still do the right thing. It may end up giving a positive effect after all. You should also be a good person and do the right thing because if you don’t it may also end up having a negative effect and end up ruining you.

              Veterans Day

On Veterans Day we celebrate the ending of World War II and we celebrate the service of those who fight for our country. I think that this holiday is really important for us Americans because, it helps us give thanks to the families of the loved ones who they lost at war and give thanks to the ones who survived war. This holiday is celebrated all across America to celebrate the lives of all of our lost soldiers and have a celebration with the ones who luckily came back.

Reflection: I am thankful for everyone who has fought for our country and to those who gave their lives for us because, if they wouldn’t have, our country wouldn’t have been the same. I hope that one day all of those families who lost their loved ones can reunite with them someday.
“Doing what is right, fair, and honorable is more important than winning
or losing.”

Chick Moorman

I think that this quote means that, if you do the wrong thing for example cheat on a test and you get
a good grade, you’re not really winning. On the other hand if you do what’s right and not cheat but
you don’t get a very good score, you are a true winner.

If you hang out with the chickens, you're going to

You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

"He  that  walketh  with  the  wise  men:  but  a  companion  of  fools  shall  be destroyed.”
-         Proverbs 13:20

I think that this quote means that, if you surround yourself with good things, you will not be influenced to something wrong. On the other hand of you surround yourself with bad things, you WILL be influenced to do the wrong thing and you will no longer be a CTR person, you will be a CTW person.

“  The best recreation is to do good.”
                              -         William Penn

“Right is right even if everyone is against it, wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it.”

William Penn

I think that this quote means that, even if everyone is doing something wrong, it doesn't make it right. It will continue wrong no matter how many people do it. On the other hand, if you’re doing something right, even if no one like it, it will continue right.

“Don’t sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you                                                  want most and see it often.”

Peter Vidmar

I think that this quote means that, if you want something the most, you can’t just sacrifice it for what you want at the moment, you can just have your mind set to reach your long term goal and the other goals can wait.

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.

 -         Proverbs 22:1

I think this quote means that, it is better to have a good name (a good reputation) than to have all the riches in the world and have a bad one. Even if you are very rich and you think that you have a good name just because of that, you honestly don't, all you have is money and a bad personality

Monday, October 13, 2014

“A good name is better than anything you can achieve in this life.”
-         Mike Krzyzewski

I think what Coach K is trying to say is that, even if you have the best title in the world, it is better to have a good reputation. Even if you have a good title and a good job and everything, if you have a bad reputation (a bad name), you will not be good within your heart.  Being good is what matters most.

                         Columbus Day

On this day, the second Monday of October, was when Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas. This holiday causes major controversy because of the European settlements in the Americas. It is often discussed that Christopher Columbus is not the true founder, in reality some people think that some Vikings form Scandinavia were the discoverers. All evidence leads towards that conclusion.

Reflection: In my opinion, I believe that the Vikings were indeed the true founders of the Americas. If all of the evidence leads to that, then I don’t think there is the need to discuss about it
