Duties and Responsibilities:
These type of specialists specialize in monitor health and safety conditions in
residential, industrial, commercial, and recreational settings. They may
collect samples of soil and other substances from the places they inspect and
test if there are any hazardous substances in the area.
Salary: $37,300
to $57,551 per year
Educational
requirements: This career requires at least a bachelor’s degree as well as
courses in chemistry, biology, public health, physical sciences, and environmental
engineering. They must also be licensed by the National Environmental Health
Association.
Reflection: I
would like to become an environmental health specialist because it seems like a
very interesting job. I would like to help people have a safe environment and
not be at risk of getting sick.
