Presidents
Day
Presidents Day
is a holiday celebrated every third Monday of February. It was originally
established in 1885 in recognition to George Washington, our first president.
It was traditionally celebrated on the 22 of February, but it was moved to the
third Monday of February to recognition the other presidents we have also had
so far. A few ways to show honor on presidents day are by forming groups and
reenacting the events occurred on Presidents Day, and teachers can also honor
the holiday by teaching their students about this event in history.
