“Associate
yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for ‘tis
better to be alone than in bad company.”
- George Washington
What
George Washington is trying to say in this inspiring statement is that, if you
care about your reputation, you should hang out or associate with the people
that have a good reputation. If you hang out with people who are bad company
for you, you will eventually be known as bad company as well. He also says that
it would be better for you to be alone than to have people have you known as
bad company because of the people you associate yourself with.
