Optician

Duties and Responsibilities: An optician dispenses fit eyeglasses and contact lenses following prescriptions of an ophthalmologist or optometrist. They examine the prescription and recommend an eyeglass frame for patients.

Salary: $44,605 annually

Education: To become an optician you must at least have a high school diploma. Opticians typically have on-the-job training that requires them to learn sales and office management practice. They must also take courses on optics, eye physiology, and business management among many other courses. Lastly, they must be licensed and pass the state exams.

Reflection: I would not like to become an optician because this job doesn't seem like something that I would like to have in a near future.
